We wanted to update our customers on how we are managing the situation regarding COVID-19, and the steps we are taking to ensure the safety of our employees.
We would like to reassure you that www.bestheating.com
remains fully operational and delivery times to our customers are performing as normal.
The government has advised that tradespeople can continue to carry out repairs and maintenance in people’s homes, provided that the tradesperson is well and has no symptoms. However, it will be important to ensure that Public Health England guidelines are followed, including maintaining a 2 metre distance from any household occupants to ensure everyone’s safety.
No work should be carried out in any household which is isolating or where an individual is being shielded, unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household, such as emergency plumbing or repairs, and where the tradesperson is willing to do so. In such cases, Public Health England can provide advice to tradespeople and households. No work should be carried out by a tradesperson who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.
For our employees, we have introduced working from home for those employees who are able to do so, in order to assist in the containment of the virus. Clearly, we still have a number of roles where it is difficult to work from home, however we are ensuring that we follow Public Health England guidelines for those staff that remain on site. Should any employees start to show symptoms or have family members with symptoms, we are asking those employees to immediately enforce a self-isolation period of 14 days as per Government advice.
