Why are my radiators hot at the top but cold at the bottom?

Radiators can be hot at the top but cold at the bottom when something is preventing the flow of water throughout them.

In most cases when the radiator is cold at the bottom, you will find a build-up of sludge towards the foot of the radiator.

Our Advice Centre blog, What is a Heating System Flush, explains how you can take preventative measures against sludge and other debris, to ensure your radiators operate to their full capacity.
