Is there a UK gas boiler ban?

FAQ banner image

The UK government plans to introduce legislation decreeing that gas and oil boilers cannot be installed in newbuild properties from 2025 onwards.

For existing homeowners, there is no suggestion of any plans to outlaw gas boilers at the time of writing, even if a new boiler upgrade scheme is set to incentivise people to switch to renewable heating solutions from April 2022 and beyond.
