Though a cheap and effective disinfectant, bleach is not recommended to be used on radiators. It does not interact well with certain materials such as wood, fabric and metals. For radiator surfaces, bleach can cause rust or corrosion quite quickly.
In severe instances, rust can attack the metal badly enough to create holes and therefore leaks that will lead to poor radiator performance and increased heating costs in tow. Instead, opt for gentle cleaning products that don’t feature corroding chemicals – diluted vinegar and dish soap and water are worthy alternatives.
