The infrared heating panel emits far infrared - the same radiation as emitted by the sun - this has a long wavelength, low frequency and no visible light, and is safe and gentle, as well as easily absorbed by objects in the room. So, when the object absorbs the emitted far infrared, it causes the molecules within it to vibrate and produce heat. This vibration re-radiates the warmth back into your room. Also, no heat is lost due to any draughts, so you'll keep warmer for longer.
