On our travels around the web, we’ve come across some amazing-looking blogs, each featuring some outstanding designs ideas and incredibly innovative ways to make the most of any available space and transform how we see (and use) our homes.
Obviously, most of you will have heard of the big players like Homify and Houzz, but if you drill a little deeper and have a nosey around, you’ll find LOADS of amazing work from a whole host of cool, trendy and highly talented independent designers and bloggers that really know how to bring style to a space.
So, to save you the job of digging around trying to find these amazingly talented people, we thought it might be a good idea to give you an overview of the ones we like the best.
So here (in no particular order) is the BestHeating Blog’s list of our favourite 7 design blogs and where to find them.
Making Spaces
The fabulous Making Spaces is based in Leeds and is fronted by (the equally as fabulous) Karen Knox.
Showcasing her impeccable attention to detail and combining practical and organisational know-how with a keen eye for stunning interior design, Karen has produced some amazing rooms for an eclectic mix of clients.
The Making Spaces motto of “real spaces for real life” can be seen in all of her beautiful work, which offers creative and affordable solutions that will transform the atmosphere and aesthetic of a room, not just so it looks nice, but so you can live life to the fullest in style too!

decor8 was launched way back in 2004 as a small interior design studio in Boston, US, by the then design school student, Holly Becker.
Two years later in 2006 and Holly founded her blog to document her ideas and passion for interiors, hoping to appeal to like-minded people looking for inspirational design and contemporary styling.
Offering everything from home tours, decorating tips and trend reports, Holly and the decor8 blog are considered true pioneers of the design blog movement and her many awards (and nearly 1.5 million worldwide followers) are proof that the lady knows exactly what she’s talking about.

Hege Morris
Featuring everything from amazing luxury homes to smaller DIY projects, Hege In France is the brainchild of Hege Morris.
An interior design specialist, Hege is a UK Pinterest Ambassador and was recently shortlisted (in 2017) for THREE UK Pinterest Awards, proving that she really does have an eye for design that people can relate to.
With over a quarter of a million followers on Pinterest and a portfolio of work that includes projects with some of the UK’s biggest and brightest brands, Hege really does have it going on!

Design Hunter
Design Hunter was established in 2009 by interiors stylist and writer, Helen Powell and has since become one of the leading UK interior design and lifestyle blogs.
The perfect destination for anyone with a passion for understated minimalist style and contemporary design, Design Hunter is ranked as one of the best (top 5) interiors blogs by media and PR specialists Vuelio.
You’ll find modern takes on architecture, interiors and lifestyle products and so much more to help you to create stylish spaces all of your very own – it’s our go-to place when we need a little design inspiration!

Mad About The House
Mad About The House creator, Kate Watson-Smyth, really doesn’t need any introduction.
An interior design journalist who has featured in The Financial Times, The Daily Mail and The Independent, Kate began Mad About The House as an outlet for all the inspirational design ideas that she couldn’t write about in the papers – and thank the lord that she did because this blog is brilliant!
Regardless of the kind of style you prefer, or the kind of home you have, you’ll find helpful tips, expert advice and seemingly endless know-how on how to turn your house into a home – we just know you’ll love it as much as we do.

Love Chic Living
One of our favourite blogs for family design, competitions and helpful tips on everything from holiday destinations to housewarming gifts, Love Chic Living is lovingly put together by the wonderfully talented Jen Stanbrook.
Jen not only has an almost insatiable appetite for all things design, but she puts it across in a way that inspires you to feel that same way too.
From planning how you want to change your room and creating mood boards, to talking you through the process of decorating your space without breaking the bank, Love Chic Living offers it all in a passionate package that’s truly inspirational; it really is design for all the family!

Fresh Design Blog
Run and edited by freelance home and property writer Rachel Newcombe, Fresh Design Blog was launched in 2009 and is packed with amazing ideas on how to decorate your home and accessorise your space on a budget.
There are always loads of modern ideas to whet your design appetite and tips on where to find the best value products to enhance the look of your home.
If what you want out of a design blog is excitement, regular updates on trends and advice on how to bring contemporary styling to any space in your home, then Fresh Design Blog does exactly what it says on the tin – it’s fresh, it’s all about design and it’s a blog, oh and did we mention it’s brilliant too?
