National Radiator Day
In 2020 we celebrated National Radiator Day by giving one of you the chance to swap the radiator you hate for one that you love.
Out of all the photos that were sent in, this one in particular stood out to us as needing some TLC and we chose Ian as our worthy winner.
Scroll down to see why…
Before The Revamp
Ian’s old convector radiator looked like an exhausted festival punter at the end of a rough week of bad weather and partying. Rusty, worn out and in need of a deep clean, this poor radiator was on its last legs. Broken legs for that matter, just look at those wonky pipes! You could almost hear it crying out for help in agony.
When you step back to assess the surroundings, the venue looked like it had taken a bit of a battering too. The exposed stone wall was taking the charming rustic look to another level and the discoloured tiled floor had endured one too many spilled pints for one season.
After The Makeover
But look at it now! We seriously can’t believe this is the same room. Ian has pulled off the transformation of the decade and turned his cold grey corner into a luxurious space that feels warm, bright and inviting. We love how the beautiful copper finish stands out on the rich blue wall and the combination of the modern geometric flooring and the classic column radiator has a timeless mid century modern feel.
What Does Ian Think Of His New Radiator?
“I chose a column style radiator as I’ve done recent renovation work and replaced other radiators. In the same style throughout the house, the conservatory where this one is placed was the last one that needed changing.
I chose this metre length radiator as the conservatory isn’t the largest so it fits perfectly into the room and still allows me to place furniture around it but leaving the radiator as the focal point. I decided to pair it with a darker background colour on the wall to help accentuate the metallic copper shade of the radiator.
I’m impressed with the overall build and quality of the radiator which has already had admiring comments from friends! The heat output is more than enough to heat the room on a cold night so I’m looking forward to many a night relaxing in front of it listening to the rain outside!”
