DIY, LOCKDOWN & YOU
Many of us have been undertaking home improvement projects after staring at our four walls for a bit too long while in isolation. With extra time on our hands, we Brits have been attempting DIY projects that we have previously been putting off.
At BestHeating we’ve teamed up with Big Bathroom Shop and polled British DIY-ers to find out which projects they’ve been working on the most, what hiccups they’ve had along the way and if they’re pleased with the transformation.
We found that quite a few people have been making home updates, from deep cleans and bathroom renovations to turfing the garden and painting the lounge.
But we want to see more…
HAVE YOU IMPROVED YOUR HOME DURING LOCKDOWN?
The spells of sunshine throughout April inspired Brits to tackle their garden with a quarter working on theirs during lockdown. Many said that the weather had been holding them back from updating it and that they’d been waiting for a spell of good days to get it all sorted.
The bedroom and the lounge were also popular DIY projects with over half saying they have been doing painting and decorating, some moving furniture around and adding soft furnishings like candles and cushions.
One in ten have been updating the electrics and plumbing but worryingly nearly a quarter encountered some issues and need an expert to finish the job! If you are feeling a bit stuck, we’ve shared some plumbing and electrical tips for DIY projects that might give you a helping hand in finishing off the project.
WIN £1000 TO TRANSFORM YOUR HOME
On completion of the home improvements, two-fifths of women said they are proud of their DIY project and over half (51%) of men feel happier in their home now.
With many inspired to undertake a home DIY project during lockdown, we are on the search to find the nation’s best lockdown home glow-up.
Whether you finally got round to painting the bedroom, you fixed the plumbing in the bathroom, or completely revamped your garden, we want to see your lockdown DIY projects!
